German Joa Herrenknecht designs furniture with a playful and inquisitive approach to both design language and material selection. This has resulted in Piero, which is a beautiful, functional and sophisticated coffee table, where multiple geometric shapes and alternative, natural materials are sharply and beautifully juxtaposed against each other. The leather storage pocket can also be buttoned on and off, which gives the design a fresh, new angle.

My design studio is based in Berlin, which is from where my quirky mind comes up with new designs. Materials and colours are what makes crazy and happy, that is what inspires me to go forward. I have an easygoing approach to the design process, which to me, shall always be liberal and fun – that is very inspiring in itself.
